A basic rule of baking is that, in general, it’s almost impossible to make an inedible batch of brownies. – Linda Sunshine
I simply cannot get over the interiors of this restaurant. In my previous post (EatGreekKouzina) where I mention that it is possibly ONE of the best decorated restaurants in the newly opened extension of Mall of the Emirates, Omnia by Baharat is too. I love that as soon as you enter the restaurant, it gives a very earthy look, with the flooring brown and whitish beige in color. The furniture too goes very well with the whole theme. The two details that caught my eyes immediately as I stepped in were the ceiling and the wall on my left if you are facing towards the restaurant.
The ceiling was completely filled with pink flowers. And boy oh boy what a feeling. It looked so beautiful and very romantic as well. It felt as though we had stepped into a rain forest. Stark contrast was the wall on the left. I love artsy things and this was just it. The modern – abstract art wall was very intriguing.
Now, getting to the food, we were stuffed from the food we indulged in earlier so we thought of going and having some dessert. We ordered the, OREO CHOCOLATE BROWNIE [35dhs]
THE OREO CHOCOLATE BROWNIE [35dhs] is a dessert which comes in three layers, with a scoop of vanilla ice cream and cookie crumble toppings. The dessert is also accompanied with some chocolate sauce on the side.
This dessert was small and shared by the three of us, yet a little was left behind. The vanilla ice cream was the best thing in the dessert for me. The ice cream was so creamy and was so rich in vanilla flavourings – a truly authentic vanilla ice cream scoop. We then drenched the entire three layer brownie in the dark chocolate sauce which was a little too dark and sweet for my liking. The layers included cookie crumble, oreo brownie and chocolate brownie. The whole dessert when put together was actually very nice, except it being a tad bit too sweet and bitter. I would definitely come here again for the desserts.
The service was prompt and the server was a very sweet and friendly gentleman. He bought out a trolly filled with desserts for us to visually choose from. I felt that was a very unique and intelligent idea – to let us in person see the dessert and pick, instead of just reading it out of the menu and blindly choosing.
