Tip: C18 goes to Lamcy Plaza. Its just walking distance from Lamcy.
I love how Oud Metha is coming up with these amazing yet pocket friendly places to go dine. And I can happily say Moreish if not the best, is one of the best places to go and have an amazing variety of cuisine from. What are you craving? Mexican? Thai? India? Moreish has you sorted.
Ambience: The place in itself is quite compact but have plenty of seating space be it outside or inside. The cafe continuously play some really good music for example “Afreen” which gives it a very calming vibe. Even before entering, you get a very inviting feeling of the cafe.
Staff: The person waiting on us was extremely sweet and was very exhaustive with everything. She helped us in picking out our order and I will go in dept in down below.
Price: For the quantity and the quality of the food I would not have mind paying even more than I actually payed for. Our bill came up-to 201 and we had 2 appetizers, 2 main course, 2 mock-tails, a bottle of water and a dessert. Pleasantly surprised.
What we ate:
Moreish Shawarma Nachos [34AED]: Such an amazing twist to your nachos original. The succulent pieces of shawarma chicken tasted so good! Somehow the tahini garlic sauce, the nachos, the chopped veggies and guac and sour cream made this one of the star dishes. You have to give this a try. 4.8/5
Lemongrass Chicken skewers [28AED]: I heard a lot of people raving about this but unfortunately this totally did not live up-to my expectations. My date however seemed to have loved this, ALOT. There was no bursts in flavours but it was not something that was so terrible I had to throw away The sauce – smoked pepper emulsion and orange reduction was beautiful! The chicken tenders with the sauce tasted quite delish. [3.9/5]
Thai Curry (Red/ Green) with Rice [34AED ++] I opted for the Thai Green Curry as it just tops my list literally every time! I am a sucker for some creamy Thai Curry so when I say this is probably one of the best Thai Curries I have tasted in 22 years, I am not lying. It was everything and more! The veggies were crunchy and flavourful and the curry in it self was the creamiest and the beautiful flavours just worked wonders in your mouth. You can pick either vegetables, chicken [+2] or prawns [+4] for your curry. I went for the prawns and it was hands down the best thing all night.5/5
Quesadilla [Prawns]: This order was my least favourite. The quesadilla came a bit burnt, the veggies inside were very chunky and moreover I could not taste the prawns at all. It was not expected from Moreish after such a spectacular meal. I would not recommed this at all. Try the pastas instead maybe? 1/5
Strawberry Breeze [20AED]: Who can ever go wrong with strawberry, mint and lime. What a beautiful drink with pieces of strawberry to munch on. I tried to go slow on this.. but I failed miserably. One thing however, I wish they would not have made this so sweet. So next you plan on visiting them, do tell them to go a little light handed on the sugar syrup. Amazing drink none the less. 4.5/5
Evolution [22AED]: I was very vacillated if I should go for this or not. I love lychee but along with lemon grass? Seem a bit revolting. But I took the ‘leap of faith’ anyways 😛 And I can happily tell you I absolutely loved it. Again, a little too sweet but It was super refreshing. 4/5
Lastly for dessert we tried the Chocolate Dessert Spa [27AED]: I will not lie, I opted for this dessert solely because I was really was enamoured by the cool concept of a replica of a Ayurvedic spa with oil constantly dripping from the pot – just that instead of the oil, you can chocolate sauce and instead of a greasy backless person lying under the dripping oil, a magnificent brownie with a scoop of vanilla ice cream. This dessert was so amazing! If you keep the whole ‘cool concept’ aside for a second and look at the brownie in it self – it was such a beautiful piece of heaven. The soft and fudge-y brownie on a sizzler with some amazing vanilla ice cream – perfect way to end your meal. You also get some toasted marshmallows on the side along with you chocolate stones (which I obviously asked my date to sneak all of it – I like to keep it classy! :P)
Final Thoughts: If you read my review, Im pretty sure halfway you were already making plans with your friends/ family to go dine at Moreish. I would not judge. Because the day I got home, I already made plans to go there again. Love the food, love the courteous staff and loved the cafe in itself. Kudos Ms Narang ❤
